Cheoy Lee, the Hong Kong-based yacht builder, has appointed its first independent dealership in Europe, which opens for business this week.
Based in Nice, Cheoy Lee Riviera is the brainchild of Athos Cleanthous and Nick Lockett, who plan to revitalise the highly-regarded brand that has been at the forefront of marine innovation for 148 years.
Cleanthous, a captain and marine engineer with 20 years’ experience, has partnered with Lockett, a former Saatchi & Saatchi director with 40 years’ marketing and business experience.
Recognising the rising demand for cruising and sports fishing vessels in southern and northern Europe, the partners will focus on promoting Cheoy Lee’s signature Serenity, Bravo and Global range.
In addition, Cheoy Lee Riviera will market the Alpha 76 Express, the new Michael Peters-designed luxury power yacht, which was unveiled at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last October.
Athos Cleanthous, co-founder of Cheoy Lee Riviera, said: “Anyone who knows about yachts knows that Cheoy Lee has a reputation for quality boats that are strong, stylish and packed with the best that marine engineering has to offer. We are working with clients who want comfort married with performance. Quality is the essence of a Cheoy Lee yacht.”
Nick Lockett says: “Cheoy Lee is the best yacht brand buyers haven’t heard of and the time is right to introduce a new generation of owners and buyers to the Cheoy Lee range. People want high value, quality and performance, whether for family cruising, long distance exploring or speed and adventure. Cheoy Lee Riviera intends to make yacht buying and ownership as easy as possible.”
