Ellenborough Park, our luxury destination client in the Cotswolds, has had a very busy start to the year.
They have launched a new menu to entice visitors out of the cold and into the comfort of The Brasserie. The two-course set menu for £14.95 consists of a first and main course or a main course and dessert with dishes such as:
Starter:
Roast tomato and butternut squash soup with toasted seeds and basil oil
Main:
Strips of beef fillet, wild mushrooms in an ale jus served in a crisp puff tartlet with creamed potato puree
Dessert:
Baked apple and walnut cheese cake with a green apple sorbet
According to executive chef David Kelman, the dishes are designed to showcase the tastes of the. He says: “The menu was designed to create fine homely food and we’ve brought together inspiring flavours to warm the soul. We have so much choice in the countryside surrounding us we can provide guests with the very best English ingredients.”
We’re not sure which dish we’d choose!
Adding to the expertise in the kitchen team is junior sous chef, Piotr Antkowicz, who recently returned from training at Noma, the ‘World’s Best Restaurant’ 2011. Piotr embarked in once in a lifetime experience at the restaurant in Copenhagen and is applying everything he learnt to his work at Ellenborough Park.
On Tuesday 24 January an exclusive event was hosted by cricketing legends Tim Munton, Andy Lloyd and David Graveney. They invited guests to join them for an evening of speeches, presentations and informal networking. The event was a great success and the feedback was excellent. Here are a few photos from the evening.

The reservations team has also been preparing a selection of packages for the special days we are approaching.
First on the list is Valentine’s Day, where loved up couples receive champagne in their room, pre-dinner canapés, a delicious four-course set menu featuring nine aphrodisiacs and a luxurious overnight stay. Full use of the spa facilities is included in the package so guests can enjoy the hydrotherapy pool, steam room and sauna together after a romantic evening. There will also be special couple’s treatments, but these are available at an additional cost.
In March, there are several other events where the hotel will be hosting exclusive packages for their guests. Ellenborough Park is already fully booked for The Festival (or Gold Cup Week) at Cheltenham Racecourse,13-16 March 2012, but visitors are welcome to dine or enjoy pre-racing drinks and food from The Brasserie.
The estate is in a prime location neighbouring the Racecourse and provisions will be made for those wishing to head straight to the course from Ellenborough Park.
Just a few days after the festival, Mother’s Day is always a joyous occasion for the many mums across the county and many of you will already be thinking about how to spoil your lovely mums.
It is nearly the first anniversary of the opening of Ellenborough Park, so watch this space for more details about birthday celebrations!
We’re really excited to be working towards all these great events and look forward to sharing with you the fantastic results!
